AgentReady makes your Shopify store readable to AI shopping assistants like ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Google's AI surfaces. It publishes the structured data, the llms.txt index, and the policy signals those assistants look for, and keeps them in sync as your catalog changes. This page gets you from install to your first score.
1. Install the app
Install AgentReady free from the Shopify App Store. There is no credit card and no trial clock on the Free plan. The install adds the app to your Shopify admin and runs a first read of your store so it has something to score.
2. Turn on the theme embed
This is the one step that actually puts AgentReady's output on your storefront. Until the embed is on, nothing reaches your live pages no matter how much you configure.
- In your Shopify admin, open Online Store, Themes, Customize.
- Open App embeds in the left panel.
- Toggle AgentReady on, then Save.
The embed ships zero JavaScript to shoppers. It injects Schema.org JSON-LD into your page head, which is invisible to people and readable to machines. Nothing about your design or speed changes.
3. Run your first sync
From the AgentReady dashboard, run a sync. This reads your products, collections, pages, and policies and generates the structured data for each. On the Free plan you can sync manually with a six-hour cooldown between runs. On paid plans the sync runs automatically on every edit, so the data never falls behind your catalog.
4. Read your score
The dashboard shows an A to F readiness score with a prioritized checklist of what to fix. Each item names the gap and the exact fix. Work down the list from the top, where the highest-weighted items sit. The readiness score doc explains what each grade means.
5. Check the discovery files
AgentReady publishes a per-store llms.txt index and works with your robots.txt so the AI crawlers that drive shopping answers can reach your store. See agents.md and llms.txt for what these files do and why they matter.
